Yaeba teeth (Japan)

All our lives, we’ve been told that beauty = straight, even teeth. Japan begs to differ with Yaeba teeth. Yaeba, which translates to “double tooth”, is a dental procedure which patients WILLINGLY undertake to make their teeth crooked at about RM 1,600 per tooth.

Their justification: Yaeba teeth give girls an impish cuteness.

Do you still recall the spectacle that was Prince William’s wedding? Royalty and famous people came in droves decked in classy fashion – then there was the thing that Princess Beatrice wore.

A fascinator is today used in place of a hat. Except most of them don’t even resemble hats, or even belong on anyone’s head. Oh, and the piece that Princess Beatrice wore? Auctioned for 99,000 Euros at an auction.

Facekini (China)

In China, some people have been deemed to be too old to wear a bikini. (note: old people) In order to compensate, they torment other beach goers by wearing a Facekini – the bikini for YOUR FACE. The product has become a craze to cater to the Chinese people’s obsession with associating fair skin with beauty, who still has a dire need to enjoy a sunny day at the beach without getting a tan.

On the bright side, the Facekini is mostly bright coloured and comes with interested patterns. As long as the mask remains on.
